The Associated Press is advertising this position for APTN in Washington, D.C.:

This newsperson writes and edits news stories using electronic newsgathering and production equipment. This person records events electronically at the scene of the story. This journalist writes and edits broadcast-style scripts and advisories to accompany pieces. He or she conducts telephone and in-person interviews. This person edits audio and video, selecting the most newsworthy actualities. This individual voices live and recorded reports. This person assists members/clients in coverage. Identifies stories of interest to members/clients and angles to pursue.

The main description of duties does not mention online, but under experience, this appears:

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of online news.

I just thought it interesting that they want one person who can shoot, report and edit. I hope all the broadcast news students are paying attention.

No mention is made of how many years of experience they’d like.
