Videos about doing participatory journalism

Two videos that might be good to show to journalism students:

Beyond Broadcast: Reinventing Public Media in a Participatory Culture comes out of a conference held at Harvard University in May 2006. It has an annoying voiceover (stiff, pompous) but some good interviews and sound bites.

Citizen Journalism: Pamphlet to Blog was produced by a three-month class hosted by Cambridge (Massachusetts) Community Television. “Members of the community planned, wrote, shot, edited and distributed a [13-minute] documentary” about citizen journalism. It’s quite a bit better at holding one’s attention than the first example.

I wish Robert Greenwald (who made Outfoxed) would do a short documentary about citizen journalism.
