Wasted Flash efforts

Via a blog I just found, What’s Next? Innovations in Newspapers, I followed two recent links to supposed infographics about the new no-smoking law in Chile. What’s interesting is that the production values, graphic design and functionality of both packages are far superior to many packages we see in the U.S., where it sometimes seems like no trained designers had a hand in the work. In the two Chilean examples, we see great design — but used in an almost insignificant (that is, pointless) way. Juan Antonio Giner at What’s Next? hits the nail on the head:

I am sorry, too much Flash for two very static and boring multimedia “graphics.”
