Mike De Sisti, of The Post-Crescent in Appleton, Wisconsin (circ. about 50,000), is a photojournalist for the newspaper. He earned a Best of Gannett award in 2005 for his pictures “capturing personal moments in the lives of local people.”

Mike is also one of a number of photojournalists who picked up a video camera one day and went out to see what he could do with a new tool for visual storytelling. His online video work can be seen on his personal site, where he wrote:

My motivation comes from my passionate interest and understanding that visual story telling must adapt and take advantage of available new technology to reach the growing online news audience. We are at an exciting time in our industry and my natural drive to stay ahead of the dynamic changes in the way we communicate news stories fuels my growth as a journalist.

At the recent multimedia workshop in Minnesota, we all enjoyed his Mall Walkers video.
