10 years of Flash

On the 10th anniversary of Flash (my favorite software, in case you didn’t know), earlier this month Wired News ran an interview with senior product manager Mike Downey (thanks, Craig!).

BLAZE is the code name for the next version of the Flash authoring tool [Flash 9]. We’re about halfway into development right now. The biggest thing we’re focusing on this time is integration with existing Adobe products…. a very high percentage of Flash users also rely heavily on Adobe’s Creative Suite applications, especially Photoshop. In fact, over 90 percent of Flash customers also use Photoshop…. For the first development cycle, we have plans for integration within Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects.

Somehow this reminded me that some folks recently challenged me with that incorrect “Flash isn’t accessible, is it?” claim — so, for the record: Flash 8 Accessibility and the Adobe Accessibility blog.
